Thermalright tr ty 141

PWM fan, provides simple and easy adjustment of fan speed with the latest ETC IC.

Seven Silent Torpedo Blades – “submerges”, gives most quiet and efficient airflow.

Two Ball Bearing – to ensure consistent and stable rpm, prolonged lifetime of usage.

Aerodynamic body–Less friction around the edges and give more centered and concentrated airflow.

Side vented for reduced fan noise gives balanced performance and noise.

This fan is designed with PWM function, and full speed will apply when pluged into 3 pins instead of 4 pins .
The TY-141 can be pluged into the 3 pin; you can tell from the jack, there is fool-proof design on the jack so wrong installation of the pins are avoided .
Please first refer to the Support FAQ when using your Thermalright PWM fan on your mainboard’s Chassis_Fan Socket.

FAQ 1
Question : If I want to use my TY-141SV as a case/system fan, how should I install it on my case?
Answer : The TY-14x series fan (TY-140/141SV/147A/147B/149/14013/14013R) uses the same mounting hole form factor as 120mm fans. However, the actual frame of the TY-14x series fan is larger than a 120mm fan. So please use the following steps to confirm compatibility.

1. If your case already has mounting holes for 120/140mm fans, then you can mount your TY-14X fan like the following without problem.

Make sure to match side A and side B according to the diagram. Install the fan with side A on the side, and side B on top.
Check if you have at least 17mm of horizontal space next to the outer edge of the mounting hole.
If your case has sufficient space than you can install our TY-14x series fan.

FAQ 2
Question : When I plug in my Thermalright TY-143 Fan onto my (4 Pin PWM) Chassis_Fan socket, I cannot get the TY-143 to spin at the rated 600RPM. Is this normal, or is my TY-143 faulty?
Answer : There are different types of PWM sockets on the mainboard. Usually, only the CPU_Fan socket provides true PWM control. While other sockets such as a PWM Chassis_Fan socket does not use true PWM signals to control fan RPM, but does so through voltage adjustment. You will notice that under bios settings you can only adjust the RPM % of the Chassis_Fan. Using voltage adjustment you can still make fan speed (RPM) adjustment, but the level of control will not be as precise as true PWM control. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that our PWM fans will meet the fan’s full RPM range. The supplied voltage of the Chassis_Fan socket will depend on the designs of mainboard manufacturers, as a general rule of thumb we suggest to set the Chassis_Fan at no less than 50% duty. If you need more precise setting information based on mainboard product, please feel free to write to our support form. FAQ 3
Question : If the mainboard CPU_Fan socket and the Chassis_Fan socket uses different methods of fan speed control, how can I synchronize the same fan duty cycle for both CPU and Chassis fan?
Answer : If you need to use true PWM control for both your CPU and Chassis fan, we suggest you purchase our proprietary PWM Extension Y-Cable. Using the PWM Extension Y-Cable will provide synchronized PWM control. However, using the Y-Cable on two fans with different RPM’s will cause irregular fan speed detection, because a single fan socket RPM speed sensor cannot monitor two RPM signals.

True to its motto "innovated — not imitated" Thermalright presents with the TY 141 an evolved version of the innovative TY 147 fan.

In addition to the unmistakable change in the color, the changes relate to the design and the levitation of the impeller (i.e. the fan blades). While the TY 147 fans, which are still used on the “Value” series coolers, are equipped with an "Enhanced Hyper-Flow Bearing", the Thermalright TY 141 fan sports a double ball bearing. This bearing guarantees further increases the fans durability.

That fan design, which is based on the TY 147, corresponds to the desire of users to realize the greatest possible air flow rate at the lowest possible noise. Naturally fans with a larger diameter will produce a higher capacity at the same speed and/or the same noise level than smaller models.

The Thermalright TY 141 has the dimensions 140 x 152 x 26.5 mm, the mounting points are identical to those of conventional 120 mm fans. Owing to the sophisticated design of the inner diameter of the fan is even slightly greater than that of a conventional 140 mm fans (!).The truncated frame of the fan can be mounted at various coolers that are designed for standard 120 mm fan. A requirement is that the fan is mounted directly on the side facing the heat sink. Fan brackets which engage over the entire frame are usually incompatible. When using it as a case fan you should examine whether sufficient space is available to the side.

The speed range of the temperature-controlled PWM-fan is 900 — 1300 rpm — the flow rate varies between 56.6 and 73.6 CFM. Even at low speed and correspondingly lower noise, the capacity is higher than the performance of conventional 120 mm axial fans.

For a sufficiently silent operation, the model has seven newly designed fan blades. Together with the optimized wings and streamlined frame design, this causes a particularly effective and at the same time also very quiet air flow.

The monitoring & control the fan speed is done via the motherboard (4-pin PWM connector).
